Also referred to as bean bag, sack toss or just bags, Cornhole is a lawn game with a board with a hole and corn kernels bags. The players take turns throwing the bags at the boards for points. So, How Do You Play Cornhole? You need to have the Cornhole boards and bags. You will also need a flat surface to place the boards. This can be the beach, parking lot, but a lawn works best. The space you find should allow a 27 foot distance between the front edges of the two boards. The game can accommodate 2 and 4 players. In a 2 player game, if you throw your first bag on the board's left side, you will walk directly to the other board and throw the next bag on it's right side. If the game has 4 players, players of the same team will be throwing directly opposite each other.
- Make sure that your area of play is clear of any debris that might ruin the bags such as dog poop.
- While you can pace out the distance between the boards, it's a good idea to have a measuring tape to get the 27 feet correctly.
- Ensure that your Cornhole board is on stable ground because you do not want a moving board when playing.
- Always remember to throw from your strong side. If you are right handed, throw from the left side of the board. If you are left handed, throw from the right side of the board. This ensures that the throwing arm is in line with the opponent's board.
- Try to keep kids away from the game because they will steal your bags and spoil the game. Also, a bag to the head might not be pleasant.
- Try to hold something with your other hand. A beverage, bags or anything that will bring balance to your body when you throw. You will not regret the balance you will get.
- Try throwing the bag in different ways that have different results. Low flying bags can knock your opponent's bag off the board. Spinning bags can knock the opponent's bag off the board and easily find the hole. There are many techniques to help you win the game.
